Ingredients

2 c. firmly packed dark brown sugar
1 1/2 c. raisins
1 orange (unpeeled), cut into 1/4 inch pieces
1 lemon (unpeeled), cut into 1/4 inch pieces
1 c. canned pitted dark sweet cherries, drained
1/2 c. distilled white vinegar
1/2 cinnamon stick
1/2 tsp. ground cinnamon
1/2 tsp. ground cloves
1/2 tsp. ground nutmeg
1 1/2 c. fresh cranberries
Preparation

Combine all ingredients except cranberries in heavy large saucepan.
Bring mixture to boil over medium heat, stirring frequently.
Reduce heat and simmer 10 minutes.
Add cranberries and simmer until they begin to pop, about 5 minutes more.
Remove cinnamon stick.
Cover and refrigerate until cold.
Can be prepared 1 week ahead of time.
Makes about 4 cups.
