Pepper Steak - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. round steak, cut in bite size pieces
    1/2 c. cooking oil
    1 clove garlic
    1/2 c. water
    1 c. chopped onion
    1/2 c. celery
    2 tomatoes, cut in eighths
    1/4 c. soy sauce
    1 c. green pepper, chopped
    1 1/2 Tbsp. cornstarch with 1 c. water
Preparation
    Salt and pepper meat.
    Add garlic and brown in oil.
    Cook until garlic is yellow.
    Add soy sauce and water.
    Cook slowly for 20 minutes (no more than 30).
    Add vegetables except tomatoes and cook, covered, about 15 minutes.
    Mix cornstarch and water.
    Stir into skillet mixture.
    Add tomatoes.
    Cook 5 minutes.
    Serve over hot rice.
