Ingredients

1/2 c. shortening
1/4 c. brown sugar
1 c. flour
1 egg yolk
1/4 tsp. salt
1 egg white
1/4 c. chopped nuts
Preparation

Roll 1 teaspoon
dough in balls, dip in slightly beaten egg white, then in nuts.
Place
on
pan.
Press
thumb gently into centers.
Bake 10 to
20 minutes.
Fill holes with jelly. Strawberry jam is best.
