Potage Daquise - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 cans beets
    3 cans hot water
    6 beef bouillon cubes
    3 slices onion
    garlic juice to taste
    vinegar to taste
    sugar to taste
    lemon juice to taste
    salt to taste
    sour cream
    garnish of hard-boiled egg, scallions, cucumbers, ham or shrimp
Preparation
    Drain beets; chop and put back in liquid.
    Add boiling water and chopped onion.
    Add and season with remaining ingredients. Chill.
    Whisk in some sour cream.
    Fold in garnish.
