Marinated Cucumber Salad - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. Italian cooking sauce
    1 c. sugar
    1/4 c. water
    1/2 tsp. black pepper
    2 medium cucumbers, sliced (1 1/2 c.)
    1 medium onion, sliced and separated into rings
    1 c. vinegar
    1/2 c. salad oil
    2 tsp. salt
    6 carrots, sliced (3 c.)
    1 small green pepper, cut into rings
Preparation
    Mix Italian sauce, sugar, water, black pepper, vinegar, salad oil and salt.
    Pour over vegetables; cover.
    Refrigerate several hours or overnight, stirring occasionally.
    Drain.
    Serve in lettuce lined bowl.
    Makes 8 servings.
