Raised Donuts Or Coffee Cake - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 cake yeast in 1 c. warm water and let come to top
1 pt. warm milk
1 c. sugar
1/4 lb. butter
1/2 tsp. salt
2 eggs
flour to make dough soft
Preparation

Mix milk, sugar, butter and salt until butter is melted.
Add yeast mixture and flour to make soft dough. Place dough on well floured board and knead until soft and elastic.
Roll dough about 1/2 inch thick; cut with round cutter, then cut small hole in center. (I use a glass and a 2 liter bottle cap.) Let rise until double in size, about 3 hours.
Fry in hot oil until golden brown. Drain on absorbent paper. Shake in bag with mixture of sugar and cinnamon or frost with your favorite frosting.
