Italian Tomato Sauce - cooking recipe
Ingredients

2 cans crushed tomatoes (Progresso)
1 can tomato paste
1 onion, chopped
1 green pepper, chopped
1/2 pepperoni, sliced (omit for low cholesterol)
1 lb. hamburg (use turkey for low cholesterol)
salt and pepper to taste
1 clove garlic
2 tsp. olive oil
1 to 2 c. water
3 to 4 fresh basil leaves
Preparation

Saute garlic in olive oil.
Add pepper and onion.
Add meat; saute.
Add crushed tomatoes and paste.
Add spices; add water. Simmer on low for 2 to 3 hours.
Serve over favorite pasta.
May substitute boneless pork for pepperoni or hamburg.
