Green Bean Casserole - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 lb. sliced mushrooms
1 medium onion, chopped
1/2 c. butter
1/4 c. flour
1 c. light cream
3/4 c. sharp Cheddar cheese, grated
1/4 tsp. hot pepper sauce
2 tsp. soy sauce
1/2 tsp. pepper
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. flavor enhancer (optional)
3 or 4 pkg. frozen French cut green beans
5 oz. sliced water chestnuts
1/2 c. toasted almonds
Preparation

Saute mushrooms and onion in butter. Add flour and cook until smooth.
Add cream slowly.
Then cheese and seasonings.
Simmer until cheese melts.
Cook green beans in salted water.
Drain and mix with sauce.
Add water chestnuts and top with slivered, blanched toasted almonds.
Bake at 375\u00b0 for 20 minutes.
(Can be made ahead, refrigerated, and then baked for 35 to 40 minutes.)
