Bread And Butter Pickles - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    peeled cucumbers
    8 medium onions, sliced
    3 c. cider vinegar
    1 c. water
    4 c. sugar
    1 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. turmeric
    1 tsp. celery seed
    1 tsp. dry mustard
    1/2 tsp. ginger
    1/2 tsp. cinnamon or 1 cinnamon stick
Preparation
    Slice enough cucumbers to make 1 gallon.
    Soak cucumbers and onions in salt water and ice cubes for 1 hour.
    Mix remaining ingredients.
    Drain cucumbers and onions; add to the mixture. After boiling for 1 minute, put in jars and seal.
    Makes 5 to 6 pints.
