Toasted Meringue Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients

2 2/3 c. cake flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. soda
1 tsp. cloves
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. salt
1 c. shortening
3 c. brown sugar
4 eggs
1 c. buttermilk
1 c. chopped walnuts

Preparation

Cream shortening, add 2 cups brown sugar and mix well.
Add 2 egg whites and 4 yolks.
Sift flour with salt, baking powder, soda, cloves and cinnamon.
Add flour alternately with buttermilk
