Franklin Hunley'S Vanilla Ice Cream - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 cans cream
    4 eggs
    salt (dash)
    3 c. sugar
    2/3 c. flour
    vanilla flavoring (iron spoonful)
Preparation
    Scald one can of milk and one can of water.
    Beat 4 eggs; add salt, sugar and flour.
    Pour into scalding milk and cook until thick.
    Then add other milk and water as desired.
    He used a can of water to each can of milk.
    Add flavoring after mixture is poured into freezer.
    (He also sometimes mixed a little lemon flavoring with the vanilla, seemed to downplay the sweet taste he said.)
