Crush Punch - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 large can pineapple juice
    1/2 c. lemon juice
    1 (3 oz.) pkg. strawberry Jell-O
    5 c. boiling water, divided
    2 c. sugar
    1/2 oz. almond extract
    2 qt. ginger ale
Preparation
    Mix pineapple and lemon juice together and set aside.
    Mix strawberry Jell-O with 2 cups boiling water.
    Cook sugar with 3 cups boiling water until syrup turns clear.
    Add Jell-O mixture to syrup, then add pineapple-lemon juice.
    Add almond extract last and mix well.
