Sasha'S Favorite Lentil Soup - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 c. dry Persian lentils
5 c. water
1 tsp. salt
1/8 tsp. thyme
1/8 tsp. oregano
3 green onions, chopped
1 to 2 carrots, peeled and grated
1/4 c. minced parsley
1/4 c. oil
1 to 2 chopped tomatoes or 1 can diced tomatoes
Preparation

Bring the first five ingredients to boil in large, covered kettle and simmer slowly for 15 minutes.
Slowly saute onion, carrots and parsley in oil in skillet 15 minutes.
Combine mixtures.
Add tomatoes.
Simmer together for 30 minutes.
