My Best "Brittle" - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/2 c. raw peanuts, cashews or chopped almonds
    1 c. sugar
    1/2 c. white Karo syrup
    1 Tbsp. butter
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 tsp. baking soda
Preparation
    Combine nuts, sugar and syrup and microwave on High for 7 to 9 minutes (depends on your oven).
    Add butter and vanilla; cook for additional 1 1/2 minutes.
    Add baking soda and mix well. Immediately pour and spread onto well-greased cookie sheet.
    Let cool and break into pieces.
