Chocolate Caramel Layered Bars - cooking recipe

50 caramels (14 oz. pkg.)
2/3 c. evaporated milk
1 (17 oz.) German chocolate cake mix
3/4 c. butter, melted
1 c. chopped nuts
1 c. chocolate chips
Preparation

While the kids unwrap the caramels, Mom or Dad prepares a 9 x 13-inch pan (grease and flour).
In a large bowl, combine cake mix, melted butter, 1/3 cup evaporated milk and nuts.
Stir by hand until mixture holds together.
Press half of dough into pan.
Bake at 350\u00b0 for 6 minutes.
