Sugar Cookies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. butter or margarine
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 tsp. lemon rind or 2 tsp. lemon juice
    3/4 c. sugar
    2 eggs, beaten
    2 c. all-purpose flour
    1 tsp. cream of tartar
    1/2 tsp. baking soda
    1/4 tsp. nutmeg
    1/4 tsp. salt
Preparation
    Place butter and vanilla in bowl.
    Beat until mixture is smooth, about 2 minutes.
    Add gradually the sugar about 30 seconds and continue beating for 1 minute.
    Add eggs and beat for 30 seconds.
    Stop and scrape bowl.
    Sift dry ingredients.
    Turn mixer to speed and gradually add dry ingredients.
    Beat about 1 minute. Drop by teaspoons on greased baking sheet about 3-inches apart. Bake at 400\u00b0 for 6 to 8 minutes.
    Sprinkle with sugar while hot. Makes about 4 dozen cookies.
