Caramel Crispix Mix - cooking recipe

Ingredients

1/2 lb. butter or margarine (sticks)
1 c. brown sugar
1/2 c. light corn syrup
1 tsp. vanilla
1/4 tsp. baking soda
1 (14 oz.) Crispix cereal
2 qt. popcorn (equivalent to 1 bag microwave popcorn)
peanuts

Preparation

Melt together first 5 ingredients and cook until glossy.
Mix together the remaining ingredients with caramel mixture.
Mix thoroughly.
Spread into 2 (9 x 13-inch) baking dishes.
Bake at 225\u00b0 for 1 hour.
Stir every 15 minutes to prevent popcorn from sticking together and to the pan.
