Red Cabbage - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 Tbsp. bacon drippings
    2 c. chopped apples
    1/4 c. vinegar
    1 1/4 tsp. salt
    4 c. shredded red cabbage
    1/4 c. brown sugar
    1/4 c. water
    dash of pepper
Preparation
    Heat bacon drippings; add cabbage, apples, brown sugar, vinegar, water, salt and pepper.
    Simmer, covered, for 15 to 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.
    Yields 5 servings.
