Mary'S Sweet Pickled Peppers - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    green bell peppers
    1/2 tsp. salt per qt.
    1 clove garlic per qt.
    1 Tbsp. salad oil per qt.
    2 c. vinegar
    2 c. water
    1 c. sugar
Preparation
    Wash, stem and seed peppers.
    Cut in long wedge pieces.
    Pack into jars.
    Cover with boiling water.
    Let stand 5 minutes, pour off.
    Add garlic, salt and oil to each jar.
    Boil vinegar, sugar and water for 5 minutes.
    Pour over peppers and seal.
    Be sure no oil is on jar rims or jars will not seal properly.
