Ginger Dip - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. mayonnaise
    1 (8 oz.) carton sour cream
    1 (8 oz.) can whole water chestnuts
    3 Tbsp. chopped crystallized ginger
    dash of hot sauce
    1/4 c. grated onion
    1/4 c. fresh parsley
    1 clove garlic, minced
    1 Tbsp. soy sauce
Preparation
    Drain and chop chestnuts.
    Finely chop parsley and chop crystallized ginger.
    Combine all ingredients; cover and chill for at least 8 hours.
    To reduce fat and cholesterol, fat-free mayonnaise and nonfat sour cream alternatives may be substituted. Serve as a dip with fresh vegetables.
    Yields 3 cups.
