Butterscotch Squares - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/4 c. shortening
    1 c. brown sugar
    1 beaten egg
    1/4 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 c. flour
    1 tsp. baking powder
    1/3 c. chopped nuts
Preparation
    Blend sugar, shortening, salt and vanilla; stir in beaten egg and flour sifted with baking powder.
    Mix smooth.
    Stir in nuts. Bake at 350\u00b0 for 25 to 30 minutes in an 8 x 8 x 2-inch pan.
