Cabbage Souffle Casserole - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 large head cabbage
    3 slices white bread
    margarine
    4 eggs, beaten
    2 c. milk
    1 1/2 c. shredded sharp Cheddar cheese
    salt and pepper to taste
Preparation
    Cook cabbage in small amount of water with salt until tender; drain.
    Spread bread slices with margarine.
    Combine eggs and milk; soak bread in egg mixture until soft.
    Add cabbage, cheese, salt and pepper; mix well.
    Pour into greased 2-quart casserole. Bake at 250\u00b0 for 1 1/2 hours.
    Serves 8.
