Overnight Fresh Pickles - cooking recipe
Ingredients

home-grown cucumbers or supermarket Kirby cukes (not waxed)
Spanish or Bermuda onion
1 1/2 c. white vinegar
1 1/2 to 2 c. sugar
2 Tbsp. mixed pickling spices
1 Tbsp. or less salt
1/4 tsp. cream of tartar
Preparation

Cut cucumbers lengthwise in spears or crosswise in slices. Slice onion into rings.
Alternate layers of cucumbers and onions into a large glass or ceramic bowl.
