Bread And Butter Pickles - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 large green pepper
4 large firm cucumbers, thinly sliced
1 large onion, thinly sliced
1 large clove garlic
1/4 c. pickling salt
2 qt. cold water
14 ice cubes
3 1/2 c. sugar
1 1/2 c. vinegar
1 tsp. mustard seed
1 tsp. celery seed
1 tsp. brown turmeric
Preparation

Core and seed green pepper.
Put through coarse blade of food processor.
Put green pepper, cucumbers, onion and garlic in large bowl.
Sprinkle with salt.
Add cold water and ice cubes.
Let stand 2 hours.
Remove garlic and drain vegetables.
Mix sugar, vinegar, mustard seed, celery seed and turmeric in large boiler. Add vegetables.
Bring to boil on high heat.
Remove from heat and pack in sterilized jars.
