Oatmeal Cookies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/4 c. margarine, softened
    3/4 c. firmly packed brown sugar
    1/2 c. granulated sugar
    1 egg
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 1/2 c. all-purpose flour
    1 tsp. baking soda
    1/2 tsp. salt (optional)
    1 tsp. ground cinnamon
    1/4 tsp. ground nutmeg
    3 c. Quaker Oats
    1 c. pecans
Preparation
    Heat oven to 375\u00b0.
    Beat margarine and sugars until creamy. Beat in egg and vanilla.
    Add combined flour, baking soda, salt and spices.
    Mix well.
    Stir in oats.
    Drop by rounded tablespoonfuls onto ungreased cookie sheet.
    Throw in a cup of crushed pecans. Bake 8 to 9 minutes for a chewy cookie or 10 to 11 minutes for a crisp cookie.
    Cool 1 minute on cookie sheet.
    Remove to wire rack. Makes about 4 1/2 dozen cookies.
