7-Layer Lettuce Salad - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 small head lettuce, broken in pieces
    1/2 c. celery, finely chopped
    3/4 c. frozen peas, thawed
    1/2 c. onion, finely chopped
    1/4 c. green pepper, finely chopped
    3 hard-cooked eggs, diced
    1 c. Miracle Whip or other salad dressing
    1 Tbsp. sugar
    2 Tbsp. cream
    2/3 c. grated Cheddar cheese or 1/4 c. grated Parmesan cheese
    crumbled bacon
Preparation
    In an 8-inch square dish, layer the first 6 ingredients in order listed.
    Blend salad dressing with sugar and cream.
    Add to top of salad, then sprinkle cheese and bacon on top.
    Refrigerate several hours or overnight before serving.
    Yields 8 to 10 servings.
