Brenda'S Spicy Chili - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 lb ground beef
    1 or 2 cans dark red kidney beans (optional)
    1 (28 oz) can diced tomatoes
    1 1/2 c. chopped onions
    1/4 c. chili powder
    2 Tbsp. crushed red pepper
    salt and black pepper to taste
Preparation
    In skillet, cook onions and ground beef together until beef is brown and onions are translucent.
    Salt and pepper to taste. Drain and empty into a large pot.
    Add remaining ingredients.
    Add 4 to 5 cups of water and bring to a rapid boil.
    Simmer for 1 to 2 hours.
