Valley Apple Pie - cooking recipe

1/2 c. sugar
2 Tbsp. all-purpose flour
1/2 tsp. ground nutmeg
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
3 to 4 cooking apples, peeled, cored and sliced
1 9-inch deep-dish pie crust, unbaked
2 Tbsp. fresh lemon juice
1/2 c. sugar
1/2 c. all-purpose flour
1 stick butter
Preparation

Preheat oven to 425\u00b0. In a small bowl, combine 1/2 cup sugar, 2 tablespoons flour, nutmeg and cinnamon. Sprinkle over apples, tossing to coat well. Spoon apples into pie crust. Drizzle with lemon juice. In a bowl, combine 1/2 cup sugar and 1/2 cup flour; cut in butter until crumbly. Sprinkle over apples. Slide pie into a brown paper bag and fold end over twice. Fasten with paper clips and place on a cookie sheet. Bake 1 hour. Serves 6-8.
