Ingredients

2 1/4 c. sifted cake flour
2 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
1 1/2 c. packed brown sugar
1/2 c. shortening
2/3 c. milk
1 tsp. vanilla
1/3 c. milk
2 eggs
Preparation

Sift together cake flour, baking powder and salt.
Add brown sugar, shortening, 2/3 cup milk and vanilla.
Beat vigorously for 2 minutes on medium speed mixer.
Add 1/3 cup milk and eggs.
Beat 2 more minutes.
Pour batter into prepared pan.
Bake in 350\u00b0 oven. Frost with Penuche Icing.
