Chocolate Marquis - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. sweet or semi-sweet chocolate
    6 egg yolks
    10 oz. evaporated milk
    2 tsp. vanilla extract
    1 oz. cognac (optional)
    1 1/2 c. unsalted butter, melted
    whipped cream
    1 Tbsp. powdered sugar
Preparation
    Melt chocolate in double boiler.
    Beat together egg yolks, milk, vanilla and cognac.
    Add to chocolate; mix.
    Simmer, stirring occasionally, until thickened, about 15 minutes.
    Remove from heat.
    Let stand 30 minutes until mixture is warm.
    Stir in melted butter; mix thoroughly.
    Pour mixture into 9 x 5 x 3-inch loaf pan lined with clear plastic.
    Freeze 2 to 3 hours.
