Ingredients

1 3/4 c. sugar
3/4 tsp. salt
2 eggs
2 Tbsp. hot water
4 c. all-purpose flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1 c. butter, softened
4 egg yolks
1 tsp. baking soda
1 c. sour cream
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
1 tsp. vanilla
Preparation

Cream sugar, butter, salt, yolks and whole eggs.
Dissolve soda in hot water.
Add with sour cream to butter mixture.
Sift flour, baking powder, nutmeg and vanilla and add to egg mixture. Dough will be sticky.
Cover and chill several hours or overnight. Roll on well-floured surface.
Cut and bake on cookie sheet at 350\u00b0 for 8 to 10 minutes or until cookies are set, but not browned.
