Punch Bowl Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 box yellow cake mix
    1 large can crushed pineapple, drained
    1 can cherry or blueberry pie filling
    1 large box instant vanilla pudding mix
    1 c. pecans or walnuts, chopped finely
    1 large container Cool Whip
    1 c. coconut (optional)
Preparation
    Prepare cake mix as directed on package.
    Let cool.
    Crumble half of cake in the bottom of a punch bowl.
    Mix pineapple, pie filling and pecans.
    Pour half mixture over cake in punch bowl. Prepare pudding mix as directed on package.
    Pour half of pudding over pineapple mixture in punch bowl.
    Repeat layering.
    Top with Cool Whip, nuts and coconut.
