Boneless Beef Birds(Benlose Fugler) - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 lb. round steak (very thin)
    4 to 6 Tbsp. flour
    salt and pepper to taste
Preparation
    Pound steak well on both sides with flour, salt and pepper. Cut into 4-inch squares.
    Place about 1 tablespoon filling on each square.
    Roll and bind with clean, boiled string or fasten with toothpicks.
    Brown in butter in electric skillet.
    Add 1/2 cup water and simmer on 280\u00b0 to 300\u00b0 for 1 1/2 hours.
    Or, after browned, place in buttered baking utensil with water; cover with foil and bake in a 275\u00b0 to 300\u00b0 oven for 1 1/2 hours.
    Makes 6 to 8 rolls.
