Graham Gems - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. graham or whole wheat flour
    1 c. white flour
    1 tsp. soda
    1/4 c. dark brown sugar
    1/4 tsp. salt
    1/2 c. raisins (optional)
    1 egg, beaten
    1 c. buttermilk or sour milk
    3 Tbsp. melted shortening
Preparation
    Preheat oven to 375\u00b0.
    Combine the first 6 ingredients in a mixing bowl.
    Make a well and then add egg, buttermilk and shortening.
    Stir only until blended.
    Fill greased muffin tins half full and bake 15 minutes.
    Serve hot.
