Gingerbread - cooking recipe
Ingredients

3/4 c. butter or shortening
1 c. brown sugar
2 eggs, well beaten
1 c. molasses
3 c. plain flour
1 tsp. cinnamon
2 tsp. ginger
1 c. sour milk
2 tsp. soda
Preparation

Cream
butter
or
shortening and brown sugar.\tAdd eggs and molasses.
Sift
together flour, cinnamon and ginger.
Add flour mixture
and milk alternately. When well mixed, add soda dissolved in
small\tamount of hot water.
Stir well.
Bake in moderate oven
until
knife\tcomes
out clean.
Serve with hot lemon sauce or whipped cream.
