Ripe Olive Rice - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. Weber sausage
    1 small onion
    1 c. raw white rice
    1 (10 1/2 oz.) can chicken broth
    1 c. diced tomatoes
    1/2 c. sliced mushrooms
    1 c. sliced ripe olives
    1/4 tsp. oregano
    1/4 tsp. minced garlic
    salt and pepper to taste
Preparation
    Cook crumbled sausage until lightly browned.
    Add onion and garlic; continue to cook until onion is tender.
    Stir in rice. Add broth, tomatoes, mushrooms, olives, oregano, salt and pepper. Heat to boiling.
    Reduce heat, cover and cook slowly for 20 minutes, if raw rice is used.
    (Leftover, cooked rice may be used).
    Heat thoroughly over low heat.
    Serves 4 to 6.
