Ham And Potatoes Au Gratin - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 Tbsp. ham fat, melted
    3 Tbsp. flour
    1/8 tsp. pepper
    1 onion, minced
    2 1/2 c. milk
    5 to 6 c. cubed, boiled potatoes
    2 1/2 c. cooked, cubed ham
    1/4 c. grated cheese
Preparation
    Melt ham fat and blend in flour, pepper and onion.
    Add milk gradually and cook slowly, stirring constantly, until sauce thickens slightly.
    Add potatoes and ham.
    Stir.
    Put in 1 1/2-quart baking dish.
    Top with cheese and bake at 400\u00b0 for 25 minutes.
    Yields 4 servings.
