Strawberry Delight - cooking recipe

Ingredients

2 c. sugar
1/2 c. flour
3 c. milk
1 beaten egg
1/2 to 3/4 stick butter
1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
strawberries
vanilla wafers
Cool Whip
pecans, chopped

Preparation

Cook sugar, flour, milk and egg together until thick.
Add butter and vanilla.
Slice strawberries and cover with sugar. Crush vanilla wafers.
Put vanilla wafers in bottom of dish. Cover with pudding.
Add sweetened strawberries on top of pudding. Sprinkle some strawberries on top of pudding.
Sprinkle some more vanilla wafers on top of that.
Also pecans.
Cover with Cool Whip and sprinkle some more vanilla wafer crumbs and pecans.
This is good frozen.
Cut in squares and serve.
Needs to be set out of freezer ahead of time.
