Raised Donuts - cooking recipe
Ingredients

2 pkg. yeast
1/2 c. sugar
1/4 c. warm water
1/2 c. shortening
2 tsp. salt
1 c. milk
2 eggs
5 c. flour
Preparation

Combine yeast, sugar and water.
Let stand until it bubbles. Scald milk; stir in shortening.
Let cool.
Add rest of ingredients.
Mix well.
Turn out onto floured board and knead will.
Roll out to 1/2-inch thickness; cut with donut cutter or glass.
Fry in hot grease until golden brown; sprinkle with sugar.
