Swiss Onion Bake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 sticks butter
    6 onions or enough to make 4 to 6 c. sliced onions
    1 c. milk
    3/4 lb. sliced Swiss cheese
    1 small loaf French bread, sliced in 1/2-inch slices
    1 can cream of chicken soup
Preparation
    Cook onions in 1 stick butter until limp and transparent.
    Add soup and milk until well blended.
    Pour into a 2-quart greased casserole dish.
    Place Swiss cheese on top of onion mixture.
    Melt remaining 1 stick butter and dip the French bread slices in it. Place on top of cheese.
    Bake for 1 hour at 350\u00b0.
