Red Candied Apples - cooking recipe

1 1/3 c. Karo syrup
2 boxes red hots
2 c. water
1/2 bottle red food coloring
small pinch of salt
4 c. sugar
Preparation

Mix in boiler.
Cook to 300\u00b0, hard crack stage.
Use candy thermometer.
Then dip apples in mixture.
