My Favorite Winter Salad(Makes 8 Or 10 Servings) - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 (6 oz.) pkg. lemon gelatin
    1 (16 oz.) can whole cranberry sauce
    1 c. chopped nuts (pecans or walnuts)
    1 (11 oz.) can mandarin oranges, drained
    1 c. crushed pineapple (undrained)
    2 c. ginger ale
Preparation
    Combine gelatin and cranberry sauce over medium heat; stir until almost boiling and gelatin is dissolved.
    Stir in nuts, mandarin oranges, undrained pineapple and ginger ale.
    (I add 1/3 pint cottage cheese.)
    When fizzing stops, pour mixture into a mold or glass dish.
    Allow to chill and set.
