Nana'S Christmas Pudding And Ice Cream Sauce - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 pt. bread crumbs (stale bread)
    1 c. sugar
    1 pinch salt
    1 egg
    1/4 c. Crisco, melted
    1 c. milk
    2 Tbsp. molasses
    1 c. flour
    1 c. raisins (additional fruit may be added such as candied cherries, etc.)
    1 tsp. baking soda, dissolved in 2 tsp. hot water
    1 tsp. cloves
    1 tsp. cinnamon
    1 tsp. nutmeg
Preparation
    Mix dry ingredients.
    Add moist ingredients.
    Steam in can* or plum pudding mold for 2 hours in water bath.
    Make sure water comes halfway up the can and simmers, but does not boil.
