Walnut Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 c. nutmeats, chopped fine
    6 eggs, separated
    1 1/2 c. flour
    1 c. sugar
    1 tsp. baking powder
    1/2 tsp. vanilla
Preparation
    Beat the egg yolk until very light; add the sugar gradually and beat well.
    Sift together the flour, baking powder and salt; add the nuts and then combine with egg mixture.
    Beat well.
    Stir in the stiffly beaten egg whites and vanilla.
    Bake in 2 layer cake tins in a moderate 350\u00b0 oven from 30 to 40 minutes.
