Apple Bread - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1/2 c. shortening
1 c. sugar
1 tsp. vanilla extract
2 eggs
1 Tbsp. buttermilk
2 c. sifted Martha White self-rising flour
1 tsp. finely grated lemon rind (I use twice as much)
1 1/2 c. peeled, chopped tart apples
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1 Tbsp. sugar
Preparation

Heat oven to 350\u00b0.
Grease an 8 1/2 x 4 1/2 x 2 1/2-inch loaf pan.
Cream shortening, sugar and vanilla together until fluffy. Blend in remaining ingredients, except cinnamon and 1 tablespoon sugar.
