Sauerkraut Soup - cooking recipe
Ingredients

5 to 6 c. cold water
1 lb. bag sauerkraut
1 large onion, diced
3 to 4 slices bacon, 6 ribs or ham bone
2 medium potatoes
1 Tbsp. flour
water
salt and pepper
1 bay leaf
1 tsp. caraway seed
Preparation

If using raw meat, preboil and rinse clean.
Pour kraut with juice into pot and cover with cold water.
Bring to a boil and remove from heat.
Drain.
Put kraut in soup pot with 5 to 6 cups water, bay leaf, caraway seed and ham bone or ribs.
Bring to a boil, reduce heat and simmer for 2 hours.
