Rich Rolls - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. scalded milk
    1/3 c. shortening (part or all can be butter)
    1/2 c. sugar
    1/2 tsp. salt
    2 cakes yeast
    1/4 c. lukewarm water
    5 c. all-purpose flour, sifted
    2 beaten eggs
Preparation
    Combine scalded milk, shortening, sugar and salt.
    Cool to lukewarm.
    Soften yeast in lukewarm water; stir and combine with cooled milk mixture.
    Add about half the flour and beaten eggs and beat well.
    Add enough of remaining flour to make a soft dough and mix thoroughly.
    Turn out on lightly floured board and knead about 10 minutes or until smooth and satiny.
    Place dough in warm greased bowl; brush surface lightly with melted shortening or butter.
    Cover and let rise in a warm place, 80\u00b0 to 85\u00b0, about 2 hours or until doubled in bulk.
    Turn out on board and shape into rolls.
    Place on greased baking sheet.
    Cover and let rise 1/2 to 3/4 hour or until doubled in size.
    Brush with melted butter. Bake in moderate oven, 375\u00b0, for 15 to 20 minutes.
