Baked Chicken Maryland - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 to 8 chicken pieces
    1 egg
    cracker crumbs (enough to coat)
Preparation
    Trim chicken pieces, removing loose ends of skin.
    Bone or not, as you like.
    Shake chicken in a paper bag with flour, salt and pepper.
    Break an egg into a pie pan.
    Add 2 tablespoons water; beat with a fork until blended.
    Dip the chicken pieces into the egg, then coat well with crumbs.
    Place in a well-greased shallow baking pan.
    Bake at 400\u00b0 until tender (35 to 50 minutes), basting several times with melted butter (1/3 cup for 6 to 8 pieces).
