Kurma(Quick Chicken Curry From South Africa) - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 1/2 to 3 lb. fryer chicken, cut up
    2 Tbsp. vegetable oil
    1 large onion, sliced
    3 to 4 tsp. curry powder
    3 cloves garlic, thinly sliced
    1 tsp. sugar
    salt to taste
    1/2 to 1 tsp. cayenne pepper
    1 c. water
Preparation
    Combine all ingredients in Dutch oven or large, heavy pan. Bring to a boil; reduce heat to low.
    Cover and simmer for 1 hour or until chicken is done, stirring occasionally.
    Serve with hot rice.
    Makes 6 servings.
