Molasses Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    5 1/2 c. all-purpose flour
    2 tsp. salt
    4 tsp. baking powder
    1 tsp. baking soda
    2 tsp. ginger
    4 tsp. cinnamon
    1 tsp. cloves
    1 c. shortening
    1 c. sugar
    2 c. molasses
    4 eggs
    2 c. hot water
Preparation
    Mix and sift the first 7 ingredients.
    Cream shortening and sugar. Blend in the molasses, stir in 1/2 cup of flour mixture. Beat in eggs.
    Add hot water alternately with remaining flour mixture.
    Pour into greased and floured pans.
    Bake in oven at 350\u00b0 for 50 to 60 minutes.
    Cool and ice.
